South County Psychological, Inc. accepts the following insurance plans:

• Anthem Blue Cross
• Blue Cross Blue Shield
• Blue Shield of CA
• Cigna
• Magellan
• Medicare 

For those insurances, you pay your deductible and then the co-pay. Aetna and Tricare have approved South County Psychological, Inc. as an out of network provider. For those, you pay more up front, as they pay less for out of network services. 

If you have a different insurance, you will pay Dr. Novak directly. You will be given a receipt which you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Many PPO insurance plans have some compensation available for mental health treatment provided by non-approved, out-of-network providers. Check with your insurance directly.

If you have no insurance, (referred to below as "Cash") you will pay Dr. Novak for your services each time you come. Cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover are accepted forms of payment. You will also receive a receipt for your tax records.

Rates for Cash services

Sessions (individual or couples) are 50 minutes and cost $150.*

Payments

All session co-payments/fees are due at the time of service.

Cancellations

Any scheduled session must be cancelled 24 hours in advance or you will be billed the full rate.

House Calls

Usually all therapy services occur at the South County Psychological, Inc., office. For individuals with physical or severe mental health issues that prevent them from being able to come to the office, house calls are available at Dr. Novak’s discretion. Usually, this adds an additional travel fee of $50 per session. If you seek house calls, please be sure to state your reasons clearly with Dr. Novak when your appointment is scheduled.
